Where parents suffer the devastating heartbreak of baby loss it is important to ensure that they receive care and support during this most difficult time. As part of baby loss awareness week we debated in parliament the work of the all-party parliamentary group which brings MPs from all parties together to work collaboratively to make improvements. This includes ensuring that parents are given the space and time to make memories and to grieve away from the sounds of the maternity ward, reviews how pre-twenty four week baby loss is investigated and whether coroners should have more of a role in reviewing these cases. This is a particularly important debate and one that I know will have touched many families locally, not just parents but also grandparents and the extended family. Watch the clip of my speech to find out more about what the government is doing on this.
