Recently I updated constituents on the progress being made on Wisbech Rail. This week, I would like to update constituents in March, Manea and Whittlesey about a CrossCountry rail consultation that will affect the scheduling of trains at your stations for the next 3 years.

I will include a link to the consultation below, but for ease will lay out what I believe to the key points of this consultation. CrossCountry are proposing increasing the numbers of seats available at peak times and possibly increasing the frequency of services, including 80 extra seats on the 05:19AM Birmingham to Stanstead, which many commuters from March, Manea and Whittlesey will be pleased to hear. However, to secure this and possibly more improvements, I am calling constituents to fill out the 5 minute survey below, using the additional comments box to detail the exact improvements which they would like to see to their journey times.

I also urge constituents to email consultation@crosscountrytrains.co.uk

Back in March constituents from Manea wrote to me expressing their concerns for the overcrowded 7:38AM service to Cambridge. After following this up with the Managing Director of CrossCountry, I am pleased that from December, extra seating will be provided on this service.
