After several recent moving cases of young children and their families seeking to access cannabis products the Government are making changes to the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001 to permit the access of cannabis-based products for medicinal use without the need for a Home Office license. This will apply where there is a clinical need and where they present the most appropriate treatment option.
This change heralds a significant development to the Government’s approach to cannabis and shows we have listened to the stories of families who feel this will help their care.
