A number of constituents have contacted me to raise concerns over the 7.38 AM CrossCountry Service from Manea to Cambridge.
The service is extremely busy, with commuters travelling to Cambridge, holiday makers with large cases making their way to Stansted Airport, alongside passengers, some of which are with bicycles. Despite ongoing, serous overcrowding, there are only two coaches.
Constituents have expressed bemusement, as many other services running through Manea station run with three coaches, however, the busiest service of the day only runs with two coaches.
I have therefore written to both the Managing Director of CrossCountry, Andy Cooper and Department for Transport to request they consider the feasibility of running an extra coach for the service and confirm what steps need to be taken for this to be delivered.
