The NHS turns 70 this year, and continues to be a source of pride in North East Cambridgeshire and across the country, but it would be nothing without the skill, dedication and compassion of NHS staff, as well as the many volunteers, charities and communities that support the service.
Myself and other MPs in England were called on to put forward outstanding nominees who have innovated, impressed and made a real difference to how local health and care services provide care for patients.
Nominations closed on 23rd March, and I am delighted to announce the following are now the official nominees representing our constituency in the national competition:
- Mr Gary Shepherd (St George’s Medical Centre Littleport) for the Person-Centred Champion Award for his work setting up the outreach oncology service here at St george’s Medical Centre during his tenure as Practice Manager
- Cornerstone Practice (March) for the Excellence in Primary Care Award and;
- Medical charity, Pulse (Littleport) for Patient and Public Involvement Award
