Constituents have raised in recent weeks their concerns regarding the future of the 46 bus which runs between Wisbech and March and is used by, amongst others, pupils at Neale-Wade Academy.

Having discussed this with key local figures, I am pleased that Mayor James Palmer has confirmed that he has allocated funding until the end of March 2019.

This is a very welcome announcement from Mayor Palmer and will ensure that local pupils and families will begin the summer holidays with the knowledge that the bus service will still be in place when they return for the start of the new school year.

Whilst the future of the service is confirmed just for this financial year 2018/19, it gives the Mayor and Combined Authority adequate time to find a suitably priced alternative service provider so that residents are covered after this date.
