A number of constituents from Wimblington and the surrounding area have expressed views both for and against Fengrain’s plans for an anaerobic digestion plant at the grain store off Hook Road. Concerns range from the traffic the plant will generate and the problems associated with heavy tractors and trailers on the narrow Fen roads to potential smell pollution from the plant. On the pro side people are in favour of the application because it will be producing renewable energy.

I am keen to hear local people’s views so I can accurately reflect the wishes of the community to the Council’s Planning Committee. To avoid any suggestion of bias I have launched two petitions, so that the numbers in favour and against can be accurately evidenced.
