The General Cemetery 3 Steve Barclay and David Crouch

A new community resource will soon be opened in Fenland as the restoration of the historic General Cemetery Chapel in Wisbech continues to make good progress.

Following a Heritage Lottery grant of £303,800 to restore the building, it has been fitted with a new glass roof and stained windows overlooking the three acres of wildlife gardens running from the Asda supermarket to Harecroft Road.

David Crouch from the Wisbech Society and his team have done a great job in bringing this local heritage back to life. It was great to visit this community asset which will be a good resource for local schools and community groups.
