Today I ensured the MIU sites in Wisbech, Doddington and Ely were discussed at a health roundtable with Cambs MPs, Cambridge and Peterborough CCG and NHS Chief Executive, Simon Stevens. I have made the case for our MIU sites to be transformed into Rural Health Hubs, which will retain the MIUs and expand the health services these sites can offer. North East Cambridgeshire has very different health needs to elsewhere in the county and I have made this abundantly clear.

I was keen to ensure our case was heard at the very highest level and having the Head of the NHS Simon Stevens and host of senior NHS officials at the House of Commons enabled me to do this on behalf of constituents.
