Steve Barclay was appointed as Chief Secretary to the Treasury on 13th February 2020.
Prior to his appointment at the Treasury, Steve served as Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union as was in post when the UK left the EU on 31st January 2020.
He was previously Minister of State for the Department of Health and Social Care from January to November 2018. Stephen was also previously Economic Secretary to the Treasury from June 2017 to January 2018.
He served as a Government Whip (Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury) from July 2016 to June 2017. He was elected Conservative MP for North East Cambridgeshire in May 2010.
