KING'S DYKE UPDATE
King’s Dyke Crossing in Whittlesey is exactly the sort of scheme we need to progress as we get the economy moving again, so it is welcome news that Cambridgeshire County Council have announced the new contractor, Jones Bros Civil Engineering who have won the contract, now forecast to cost £32 million. Thanks to Cllr Steve Count for all his work behind the scenes on this.
I know from regular conversations with businesses and residents in Whittlesey in particular how much this scheme is needed, and how frustrating the delays have been. I continue to make the case and it is good news we now have the new contractor in place and we can move forward.
Construction on King's Dyke is set to start by December 2020 and completion expected by December 2022.
