Cambcol visit

The economic challenges that coronavirus has caused is affecting many, so it was great to visit one local business that has thrived during these difficult times. I was at CambCol Ltd to see their new 4,000sqft building in Littleport. The firm re-purposed its factory to produce hand santiser and during lockdown has employed 45 new local people including five apprentices. They’re currently producing up to 175,000 litres of hand gel a day. CambCol was created in 2014 by Jonathan Fitton to bring low-cost, high-quality medical collagen products to market, providing benefits across a range of applications, including collagen haemostat which is designed to stop blood loss quickly in major bleeds and traumatic wounds. It was a fascinating visit and with a team as agile and adaptable as they’ve proved in this current crisis, I’m sure they will continue to thrive.
