Sixteen Foot Bank

My thanks go to a constituent who alerted me to the loss of a number of the road edge markers along Sixteen Foot Bank during the cutting of the grass verges. At this time of year, particularly at times of poor visibility, our Fen roads can be tricky to navigate without such aids. I conveyed my concerns to the Cambridgeshire County County highways team and am pleased that they have committed to reinstate the missing verge marker posts along the B1098 as a priority. During the last year the council has also reinstated the rib line along the road that warns road users when they are near the edge. Over the years, too many people have lost their lives in road accidents so it’s important we take whatever measures we can to make our roads safer.
