Some advance warning about potential disruption for motorists along the A605 next week - part of the Kings Dyke scheme in Whittlesey. As you’ll have seen from my previous posts, the £32m project for a new road and bridge over the railway line is progressing well. However, from Monday 1 March until Friday 5 March, there will be two-way traffic lights set up on the existing A605 between 7.30am and 6pm. This is to allow a temporary access road to be built into the main site compound on the Whittlesey side of the level crossing. I’m pleased to hear the Jones Bros site team will monitor the situation and will seek to cause as little disruption as possible. All 12 of the railway bridge columns have now been completed and the team is focused on building the reinforced earth abutment walls up to the top level of the columns to allow the bridge beams to be installed. Ongoing work on the underpass is due to complete in April.
