The Alzheimer’s Society is joining with TIDE, Dementia UK and John’s Campaign to mark Coronavirus Action Day today. The day is designed to remember the lives of those with dementia that we’ve lost and recognise the impact of the pandemic on loved ones and their carers. There must be thousands of families within the constituency who have struggled with separation over the past year – both in care homes and in the community. I know it has been desperately difficult. Therefore, it’s good to see progress in that from next week every care home resident will be allowed one regular indoor visitor – a cautious step in the right direction in the drive to bring families back together.
