New pop-up Covid testing sites

New pop-up Covid testing sites are being launched in Chatteris, March and Whittlesey from Monday. Designed for rapid testing of people with no coronavirus symptoms, the new sites will help residents who need to leave home regularly for work, volunteering or training. Up to one in three people with Covid show no signs of the disease so regular testing of people without symptoms is important in driving down the rates of infection. We know that Covid cases in Fenland are higher than in other parts of the county so this initiative is very welcome and I’d urge residents to take advantage of these rapid tests, ideally twice a week. No appointment is needed and residents should just turn up on the day testing is taking place. Sites are: King Edward Community Centre, 3 King Edwards Road, Chatteris. Open Monday and Saturday, 9am to 5pm GER Sports and Social Club, Robingoodfellows Lane, March, Open Tuesday and Thursday, 9am to 5pm Whittlesey Baptist Church, 32 Gracious Street, Whittlesey, Open Wednesday and Friday, 9am to 5pm. Please continue to keep yourselves and your families safe and follow the guidance.
