Wisbech Vertical Garden

One of the best bits about my job is meeting passionate people talking about projects that are creative and innovative but that will also benefit many others and enhance our community. The Vertical Garden project, one of the I Love Wisbech partnership endeavours, is exactly that. A collaboration between Wisbech Town Council, Clarion Futures and Blackfield Creatives, the ambition is to create a beautiful vertical garden on the site of one of the public buildings in Wisbech Park - ‘living walls’ which will become a focal point that can be enjoyed by everyone. The benefits are many, from enticing more wildlife into the park, to learning more about environmental issues and how recycled materials can be used as low-cost planters, for example, to bringing people and organisations together in a community project. Thanks to Tim Mann, Wisbech Town Clerk Terry Jordan and Maria Walker from Clarion Futures for showing me round.
