Visit to Neale Wade

I was delighted to be taken on a tour of Neale Wade Academy in March by some of the senior prefects. It was good to chat with Jake, Abbie, Skye and Millie them on various topics and answer a wide range of questions including how I became and MP, what the job of Chief Secretary to the Treasury involves, and how the Spending Review will be taken forward which will shape Government spending plans over the next three years, including my role which is to lead negotiations for the Treasury with each of the department Secretaries of State. It was great to have such an engaged and engaging group with a positive mix of challenge and constructive suggestions. It was also good to catch up with principal Graham Horn and hear from him about the excellent work staff in Neale Wade, as indeed staff across schools in the constituency, have been doing to continue teaching amidst the challenges of the pandemic. Thanks for an excellent visit.
