Many thanks to the team at Cobra Engineering for the tour and a fascinating insight into their business and some of the projects they have worked on. Cobra Engineering, based in Wisbech, specialises in the design, fabrication, installation, and maintenance of stainless steel and carbon steel fabrications and pipework for engineering projects across a variety of industry sectors including within food production, manufacturing, water and utilities, and construction. It was great to hear about projects Cobra has been working on with other local firms such as Anglian Water and Lamb Weston.
I am always both curious and proud by the number and quality of top-notch firms we have in the constituency, many of which have thrived for decades. Cobra is another one that has notched up more than 30 years of experience and it was great to hear about future plans and the apprenticeships that will safeguard these skills in the local area.
Lyndon Clancy is a great example, joining Cobra in 1994 as a welder fabricator and site supervisor becoming workshop foreman and project engineer, before his appointment as managing director in 2021. My thanks to Lyndon, production manager Paul Taylor and financial controller Kim French for sharing their time and expertise.
