Following my arts roundtable meeting earlier this year, it’s great to see the collaboration across the constituency to encourage cultural progress. The Fenland Cultural Fund is an excellent example that allows arts organisations in Fenland to bid for up to £2,000 to support their activities. While we have some great examples of culture and heritage in the constituency, it’s also recognised that Fenland has low cultural engagement and there’s more we can do to support opportunities for local communities and residents to access high-quality cultural experiences.
This £23,000 fund brings together the Arts Council, Fenland District Council, and Cause4 Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy and should make a significant difference, allowing organisations to progress creativity and cultural offerings to new audiences, driving increased engagement and building on the existing talent we have. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what this fund will achieve and experiencing the cultural activities it will bring. The fund will be open to bid from 9 October for six weeks.
