Conservatives Give an Additional £2,324,056 Social Care Investment for Cambridgeshire
As Minister for Health I am very aware that the more social care we can offer, the more opportunity there will be to reduce some patients stay in hospital. Reducing length of stay is beneficial for patients but also helps in other areas such as ambulance drop-offs in hospitals as it removes the blockage when patients remain. That is why earlier year social care moved into the Department of Health and is why we are focussing much more on social care. The extra £2.3m for Cambridgeshire is an important step in the right direction and will support patients with home care packages, home adaption and reablement packages, which help patients carry out everyday tasks and regain mobility and confidence.
