Great to See Chatteris Make National News This Week After Donating Ivory Tusks to be Destroyed

Chatteris Museum was recently given several ivory ornaments by a constituent who did not want to keep them after inheriting them. The museum wanted to make sure the pieces didn't make their way back on to the market so have given them to International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), and will be destroyed by the Border Force.

In May, the Conservatives introduced a Bill to ban ivory sales, as part of our commitment to strengthen protections for animal welfare. Elephants are one of the world’s most iconic animals and we must do all that we can to protect them for future generations.
